Product Overview

Hesco Barrier Retaining Wall is a modern, modular earth retention and slope stabilization solution designed to replace rigid, high-cost concrete retaining walls. Engineered for civil engineering, roadside construction, river restoration and landslide prevention, this geotextile-lined welded mesh barrier delivers reliable erosion control, ground settlement resistance and long-term structural stability for all types of slope and embankment projects.
Different from traditional concrete walls that crack under ground movement and require complicated drainage systems, our Hesco retaining wall features a flexible, permeable structure. The integrated geotextile liner filters water and eliminates hydrostatic pressure, the main cause of retaining wall failure. Filled with local sand, gravel or soil, each modular unit forms a heavy gravity wall that stabilizes slopes, prevents soil erosion and adapts to terrain deformation without structural damage.
As a professional Hesco barrier manufacturer, we provide customized galvanized and Galfan coated retaining wall barriers with 20–50 years design life. Flat-pack delivery and fast on-site installation greatly reduce construction time and project costs, making it the preferred solution for commercial, municipal, mining and landscape erosion control projects worldwide.

Core Benefits of Hesco Barrier for Retaining Wall & Erosion Control
Natural Permeability & Zero Hydrostatic Pressure
The high-density geotextile liner allows water penetration while retaining soil particles, realizing automatic drainage without extra drainage pipes. It effectively solves the water accumulation problem of traditional retaining walls and avoids wall bulging, cracking and collapse caused by hydrostatic pressure.
01
Flexible Structure & Anti-Settlement Performance
The welded mesh and compacted fill structure can adapt to minor ground settlement, freeze-thaw cycles and seismic fluctuations. No cracking or deformation occurs, which is far more adaptable than rigid concrete walls on complex terrain.
02
Ultra-Fast On-Site Installation
No formwork, no concrete pouring and curing, no large-scale foundation construction required. A small construction team with conventional excavators can complete over 100 square meters of slope stabilization wall per day, shortening the project cycle by more than 70%.
03
Significant Cost Savings
By using local fill materials and simplifying construction procedures, the overall project cost is reduced by 50–65% compared with concrete retaining walls. The maintenance-free design further lowers long-term operation costs.
04
Long Service Life & Eco-Friendly Design
Hot-dip galvanized treatment ensures 20+ years of service life, while upgraded Galfan coating supports up to 50 years of stable use. The wall surface can be planted with vegetation to form green ecological slopes, perfectly integrating with the natural environment.

Professional Installation Guide for Slope Stabilization
Excavate and level the construction foundation, pave 15–20cm compacted gravel base to ensure uniform bearing capacity and prevent wall inclination.
Unfold flat-pack Hesco barriers, arrange units closely along the slope line, lock adjacent units with connecting pins to form an integral base structure.
Fill gravel or granular soil in 30cm layers, compact each layer to 95% Proctor density to ensure wall weight and stability.
Stack upper units with 6:1 slope setback, stagger vertical joints to avoid overall structural gaps and improve wall firmness.
For walls over 3m high, lay geogrid between each layer to strengthen overall tension and meet high slope stabilization requirements.
FAQ
1.How high can a Hesco barrier retaining wall be built safely?
A: As a pure gravity retaining wall, the safe height is up to 3 meters. With professional geogrid reinforcement and geotechnical design, it can stably build slopes of 6 meters or higher, meeting most civil engineering slope stabilization needs.
2.Can the barrier be used on sloped ground?
A: Yes. The flexible mesh structure conforms to moderate slopes (up to 10°). For steeper terrain, units can be terraced in a stepped configuration.
3.Can Hesco retaining walls adapt to curved and irregular slopes?
A: Yes. The flexible modular structure can be freely spliced and bent to fit curved walls, arc shorelines and irregular terrain, with strong on-site adaptability.
4.Is the geotextile liner replaceable?
A: Yes. If the liner is damaged, it can be patched with geotextile repair tape or replaced entirely. We stock replacement liners for all standard models.
